If you are a label or third-party license retailer: Please note, some titles are not available for immediate Compulsory Licensing because of restrictions outside the publisher's control. Some of these reasons might be:
- the composition has not yet been recorded (publisher retains right of First Recording)
- the composition is currently changing publishers and the copyright is caught up in transition
- the composition is written for ensembles to write their own lyrics (i.e. GLORIA!) which must be approved by the publisher directly before releasing a recording
- the lyrics of the composition are owned by another party (i.e. poet's estate), and though they've been published with permission, the copyright is not shared, and that party requires pre-approval before any distribution
